Portland, November 24th
Starting out the night the combo of DJ Kez, Matt Nelkin, and Dundiggy the DJ gave Holocene a good ol’ fashioned jammy jam. A night filled with the cuts that move butts and bass that moves everything. The night was MC’d by Ohmega Watts and was a booty shaking niz-ight. A night that combined the best sounds of Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Old School Electro, Dance Hall, Baile, 80s, Afrobeat, House, and whatever else seemed to get people off the wall and onto the dancefloor.

Holocene was thumping with bass that could be heard from down the street, which in this town is rare. By the time the drinks intoxicated most everyone the dance floor was filled, actually packed. As the night went on, the sets became deeper and funkier. A few train wrecks were heard, but it didn’t matter, this crowd was forgiving and dancing.

Holocene was the usual hipster crowd with a few of the TGIF crowd. Waiting for a drink was bullshit though. It took about 15 min to get a drink and about 3 minutes to finish (you know how we do). That didn’t matter after a few though.

When Kez had to leave, the dance floor was still filled. I guess, it’s better to leave’m wanting more. You can catch some of these DJ’s at Night Light on Thursdays, see ya there.
