Tempest Vs If My Hands Shake

Even though it was a cd release show for two projects, I only saw one. The Misadventures of Two played and may have been good, I can’t really say. What I can say, is the one man act of Quiet Countries was boring. Slow wind up and slow middle with a climax that was again, slow. (more…)

Dust Off Your Reverse Dotty And The Candy Cane Shivs

Yeah, 3 old styles deep and ‘Reverse Dotty and the Candy Cane Shivs’ are bringing it. Or something like. Maybe not “bringing it”, but what they did bring was a ton of fun. Rotture on Saturday night was the place. Their performance was filled songs about “fucking”, not doing drugs, seeing if someone is hung like Danny Glover, you know, the important things. (more…)

Lou Samson, In Her Own Words

I like to keep myself busy on projects and am usually doing about 5 things at once. I do not limit myself to one medium but rather like to be working with a lot of different methods. Right now, for example, I am working on a commissioned portrait of a dog (acrylic painting), a two-color screen print for an upcoming show, gouache paintings and illustrations, and I’m always working on stencils.
