Heart Bonnie Heart Clyde

Her life started in the Portland Waldorf School, moved across the country, urbanized in Europe and was delivered back to Portland upon the realization that it “is the only place that feels right for me”. Her name is Emily Katz and she works out of her North Portland studio developing Bonnie Heart Clyde, or what most fashion imports have been trying to institute for the past two decades…a graceful creative touch. Emily brings to each of her motifs unique thread embroidered stitching designs sewn directly into the materiel by the woman herself. At 23, Emily is living what most would be designers merely hear about during an unpaid internship with Zac Posen… distribution deals to Japan and across the US, varied television appearances, critical press acclaim, and a fan base that recognizes her brilliance and drives her to strive more and more creatively with each new season.

In today’s world, where novelty and irony are the topic du jour, there is nothing more refreshing than true passion. These clothes are crafted in such passion and the idea that vogue is at its best when it is being true to itself, and not just another Urban Outfitters churn out. Bonnie Heart Clyde plants its roots in time-honored ideas such as “1st Edition French Fairytales” or seasonal whimsy that one has held since childhood. The feminine beauty of each Bonnie Heart Clyde collection is placed in such a delicately elaborate and attractive dwelling that most male textile-hustler’s will find it impossible to ever uncover it.

Emily is even taking the task of outfitting Portland’s fashionable man, creating a line of ties and dress shirts that contain her signature thread wielding artistic wonder. All seasons and stores can be viewed online at www.bonnieheartclyde.com.
