I some how ran across this band on myspace about a year ago that had this weird song called maleflick. I couldn’t get it out of my head. The band was Twin from Olympia and they rock and they’re unusual. Twin are E.E. Kwo and Rachel Carne, formerly King Cobra. My first time to Someday Lounge and I came only to see Twin and see if they were as good live as I hoped.
The nights lineup was Problems, Twin, Eternal Tapestry and Leti Angel. Problems started the show. Even though it was slow and anti-climatic it still held my attention. Then the curtain was pulled back in dramatic fashion and onstage ready to bang away, yell away and rock away any doubts I had, were Twin.
Doing away with preconceptions, Rachel stands playing the drums and uses a padded snare as her bass drum. Kwo sulks around the stage absorbed by the music and her guitar. It’s loud, disjointed, unpredictable and original.
They have just released their split 10″/ cd w/ Mikaela’s fiend plus only on cassette is their split TWIN w/ Shearing Pinx. Bonus track – remix by le matt !! ltd ed via isolated now waves
