After needing more than three swallows of whiskey to make it through the the opening band, Thee More Shallows, we stood front row watching the boys of Subtle set up. The stage was set. Action. That’s right a show that i didn’t get bored at. This group has released two LPs, both excellent. Subtle live at the Doug Fir made for a marvelous Monday evening. I had high expectations for Subtle. They are part of a new direction in electronic music that is best experienced live as a band.Subtle’s new album Mercury Craze is better than any release yet.
Doseone was engaging, hyper and hilarious. A vest with forks. We found out Jel is a freak genius who knows who said any random quote out of a book. The whole set was candy for my eyes and ears. ;
