Dj Vadim, Abstract Rude And Yarah Bravo

The Fez Ballroom hosted Yarah Bravo, Vadim and Abstract Rude on Saturday night. A night of predictable hip hop with an uninspiring performance. I’m coming more and more to the conclusion that Hip Hop is a great studio product which isn’t interesting live.When Vadim started playing other people’s records it sounded no different than any other DJ I hear. The formula is the same, dj in back, rappers bantering in front, telling you to “throw yer hands” or some such shit to get hands in the air.

The one person that made the night interesting was Yarah Bravo. A funky South African with more radness than everyone who came. She over the top on the huge bright yellow fanny pack, afro crimped hair, poofy purple jacket and motherfucking gold converse. That’s right. How can not love that combination.
