Stumptown has now opened two stores in Seattle with one also a roaster. I know I shouldn’t say this, but, Stumptown Coffee is the best coffee in Seattle and by default, the world. This is coffee for those who love coffee, not for the caffeine (which is also loved) but for the taste. Coffee that tastes delicious. Yes, coffee that tastes as good as it smells. Their history in Portland has been one of understanding that quality before quantity is how to build loyal customers.Waiting in line is the price of having coffee that cost as much as any chain but from families that grow organic and pay the laborers well. The new stores are trademark Stumptown with wood and brown combined with the cold minimalist concrete and furniture.
You can meet the people who grow your coffee once a month in Portland. They bring the families and workers to meet their customers and clients.
