To help the new monthly at Valentines Copy showed up to spin his distinct brand of electro funk while Panther’s Charlie Humara also was present, only to enjoy the scene though. DJ B*retta held it down as well. I made plans to make it on Saturday because I have been hearing alot about the guy “Guidance Counsler”. Notorious for fun gimmicks like free hair cuts at shows, I was told to see him if possible.What I didn’t expect at all was the song he opened with. A cover of Dead Prez’s Bigger than Hip Hop! From there it only got better. As he got into it, he had to tear off his jacket, wrap himself in the microphone cord, rap and dance like no one was watching. Except everyone was. But it was so honest and fun that it made everyone smile and cheer. The rest of the performance was similar, fun and dancing were the themes.
