What used to be an oasis in an industrial ghetto is now an oasis in an affluent ghetto. Mike and Jen Sawyer opened a bar 10 years ago in the Pearl that had the same amount of pretension as the neighborhood then. None. Now the high and mighty Pearl has the most pretension and sterile taste in the state. And today the Low Brow is not just a comfortable dark and smoky lounge for the Pearl, but part of the elite in Portland’s Bars.
