Romanteek, Seagull Wave With Lactatious @ Rotture

Written by Tobias Funke

Wednesday nights have been the best time to see bands lately. After over hearing the editor’s reaction to the Lactatious sex advice interview, I couldn’t bring myself to be turned on and musically savaged so I missed them. I caught Seagull and Wave who really impressed me with tight arrangements and an easy happy attitude they shared when they had to restart the song that was finished earlier that day.

DJ Equestrian killed it in between sets with cuts, even Brazil’s Bonde do Role.

Romanteek kicked off a west coast tour supporting their new album “Romanteek”. Where DJ Equestrian left off, Ian Ackerman’s tight drumming and a deep bass groove by Dance!!! Attack!!! on the keyboards picked up. Bouncy, groovy and fronted by Ruby Valentine and Le Matt on guitar.

One of Renegades favorite songs of last year ” Place to go”, was the high point until their encore, which was a loose and loud rock out. In all it was a great show. Not only because Ruby was so confident to wear a gold outfit including gold boots or Lactatious and their potty mouths or even Seagull and Wave’s poppy rock but also because of the backing of musicians and their energy. Definitely recommending their show at Slab Town on April 21 as the last stop on their tour.
