Steven Mathews And Breeze Block’s 1st Birthday

I hadn’t been out in awhile and when I saw this great art on the flyer for this show I made sure to remind myself to be there. I couldn’t find anything out on Steven Mathews online, which was explained to me by Breeze Block owner Paige Pendergast that he keeps a low profile and likes being hard to find. With his work showing all month I’ll be really surprised if there is anything left. Check out his interview with Paige to get a better insight to this local artist.

Also talking with Paige, I found out that Breeze Block’s last Last Thursday was so big that the Police cited the Bye Bye with an $8,000 fine! So, they asked her to leave and she is fine with that because her parties are an integral part of Breeze Block and doesn’t want to get them in trouble. So off to a new place and more fortune for her.

As I strolled down the street I came across the infamous DJ Spinna Face dancing in the street in a crowd on the section of Alberta that is blocked to traffic. From there I met Swan Lewis who took me into a strangers party right off the sidewalk with house music blaring. We took shots and met the host. I then sensed panic, grabbed a spring roll made my way out the door onto the sidewalk of Alberta. Then after buying beer, Swan and I were just sipping our beer and an OLCC officer comes up and tells us we either need to be inside or dump the beer out, then he walked off. Whew.
