“panic” Dyme Def’s Current Events Set To Beats

4

Dyme Def’s newest “Panic” is a current affairs report with blasting beats that take no shit. Chant down Babylon with the sound of smart Cascadian Hip Hop. Cascadian hip hop is educated and honest. No bullshit about my money, my car and girls and all the total fake ass lazy shit that is hip hop on the radio. There something about our corner of the world where rapping about whack shit gets you no where. No mindless anthems about the latest dance or whiskey, just straight up smart and tough. We expect real and challenging lyrics. We stand up to power while explaining a perspective of common sense and intelligence.

These dudes (SEV, Fearce, Brainstorm and producer Bean One) from the Sound have been building a musical library while climbing higher and higher with their lyrics and music. This new release is a different direction for the group. Musically it’s a step up from the earlier releases and the lyrics are becoming stronger. Choppy guitar riffs and banging piano reinforce the alarm and sense of emergency that comes out of the album. With their unique sound they take it straight to heart of the matter. The refrain on “Panic” is a desperate cry of “Won’t somebody please help me!” seems as if it’s coming from a confused single mother in the night. Chilling. Cascadia be proud that our music isn’t ear candy . We just calls it like we sees it and shit ain’t look’n too good.

Released this Sunday, and a supporting tour in May should bring them to you soon. Oregon will get their love with shows in Eugene on May 14th then May 15th Portland (?) and May 16th Corvalis then May 17th Seattle (!?).
