That’s right, Cascadians are actually working together to advance our culture and image. First the Seattle show then the Portland show. Who’s got what? But more than a battle it’s expanding our connections and fan base to include our Cascadian brethren. Portland and Seattle, like two siblings who pick on each other but ultimately are bound to each other, are now building (symbolic) bridges to each other.
SEATTLE, WA – April 21, 2009 - Sportn’ Life Records and Focused Noise Records today announced that they are joining forces for a premiere hip hop showcase. Sportn’ Life Record’s crown jewel, D.Black, will perform live, along with some of the region’s hottest hip hop players: Seattle’s Fatal Lucciauno and Spaceman; and Portland favorites Animal Farm, Mic Crenshaw and Serge Severe.
“Seattle and Portland have been allies for a long time and this partnership illustrates their commitment to putting the region’s hip hop talent on the map,” said DeVon Manier, CEO/Co-Owner, Sportn’ Life Records. “The Northwest has always been known for its grunge and indie rock music talent but we’re finally attracting national attention as a hip hop music hotbed. We hope this show will spearhead a leap into national promotions.”
Each label’s artists will go round for round in this exciting display of battle inspired showmanship.
