With collaboration being the newest spoke on the wheel of contemporary street art, a group show with artists from San Fran and Portland is perfect timing.
Group Hug, The Show is curated by Brandon who has brought together a nice mix of inspiring artwork. From San Fran is Matthew Palldino, Jonathon Casella and PEZ. Representing Portland is Maria Joan Dixon, Claudio Marchetti, Isis Fisher and Brandon.
This show at Breeze Block Gallery represents the best in accessible artwork. The standout is the work of Isis Fisher. She’s only 19 with no formal training. This is reflected in her watercolor paintings. Paintings that have a distinct psychedelic effect. Obviously talented Isis Fisher has a chance to make some amazing art in the coming years.
The turnout was good at Breeze Block which again had our favorite Cascadian beer, Captured by Porches. Stop by the Gallery to check out these rad artists.
Paige told us she was headed to Report Lounge to see the Kofie show. So we headed down to check out the Report and see our friend Ashley Montague the man who brought Augustine Kofie to Portland.
This man’s artwork if amazing. Truly. Speaking with Ashley I told him Kofie’s style is much like his. The swooping streaks and precision lines are eardrum4eyelid-esque. Ashley mentioned that a few people mentioned this, to which he was humbled and honored to be compared to Kofie. A great guy.
Also in attendance was Graintable who was also amazed by the detail and mastery of the paintings. Usually a bar wouldn’t have that great of artwork. Usually a bar doesn’t employ a great painter who knows what is great art and how to show it. Take advantage of this gallery level art at a rad lounge.
