What’s Inside Of Noah D

And so it began with a Kermit the frog drum kit and a 3 year old named Noah. Slowly evolving from a musical spectator to a big name producer, who lives right here in Portland. In the early years, his involvement with music was mainly a spectator. Then came High School. With feelings of directionless and confusion, as most do at the age, Noah picked up a guitar. This became a major turning point and solidified his relationship with music. “I knew that i’d be involved with music on a serious level for the rest of my life.” His feeling was correct. After doing live music for a long time he got into the electronic side of things, but never thought he would be a DJ! As he puts it, “I started messing around with production and DJing in 2001 but only got serious with production in late 2004. In 2005 I decided it was time to dedicate myself fully to production and quit my last day job and so far it’s been working out”

Noah has gained a solid fan base locally here in the states as well as internationally. Already out on his second international tour, he says its “going to be a big tour with a bunch of other acts on the bill including Matrix & Futurebound, Foreign Beggars, Trolley Snatcha and more!”  To hear him describe a show on his first tour European tour gave me the goose bumps, ” … was packed and everyone was so happy to be there listening/dancing to dubstep.  Was also one of those nights where I just happened to SMASH it, everything was falling into place.  The crowd was just going crazy that night, dancing like mad, hands in the air, even chanting “Noah D, Noah D!” was wild!!”

The heater ‘Seeeriousss’ by Noah D placed 5th in the dubstep forum awards for Best New Track. This is a big deal. Noah ranks up with the likes of Joker, Skream, N-type, and Plastician just to drop a few HUGE names of dubstep producers. Not only that, he has seen play worldwide from top DJ’s including the names i just dropped. And i will brag for him a little more, he deserves it. His music has also received radio play on many of the UK’s biggest radio stations including Kiss, RinseFM and BBC’s 1xtra. He must be doing something right.

And just when you thought Noah couldn’t get any cooler, let’s talk about Crush. A weekly held at the Crown Room. The fellas behind Crush, Noah included, always strive to bring in a wide range of the DnB spectrum, which is not only limited to the artists sound but also their status. One point of importance for the Crush crew “is to bring in major DnB acts as well as up-n-comers who people may not know of yet.” Noah’s take on the night “Crush has been great to me, it’s been very cool to meet so many DnB artists from around the world and it’s just awesome in general to be involved with Portland’s longest running DnB night.”

And heads up, Noah has a very diverse album coming soon that is not tied to any one genre, just MUSIC. Can’t wait. You can find his music anywhere online. Some of the better sites are beatport.com (only digital) chemicalrecords.co.uk and boomkat.com.  You can also find his releases at most local record stores and if you can’t, demand them!
